About the Role
Kiddom is hiring a City Coach to provide job-embedded instructional coaching across schools in Petersburg City Public Schools. If you’re a former teacher or instructional leader with a passion for curriculum implementation, coaching diverse educators, and building school-wide capacity—this one’s for you. This is a full-time, on-site role with high-impact support and growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
Embedded Coaching: Model, co-plan, and support teachers (including provisionally licensed and long-term subs) during daily instruction.
Professional Learning: Lead PD aligned to Kiddom's curriculum and Petersburg’s instructional goals.
Leadership Alignment: Join district walk-throughs and serve as the bridge between Kiddom and school leaders to drive improvement.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid Virginia teaching license (or eligible to transfer)
Experience with coaching educators and/or school leaders
Strong knowledge of academic standards and curriculum implementation
Preferred:
Familiarity with Illustrative Mathematics and digital platforms
Experience supporting teacher teams in under-resourced or restructured systems
Leadership in PLCs, PBL environments, or urban school settings
