About the Role

If you’re a science educator who nerds out over NGSS and data literacy, this role was basically made for you. Tuva is looking for a K–8 Science Education Specialist to develop inquiry-based science lessons and data-driven activities that help students become critical thinkers and data-literate global citizens. This contract role is ideal for educators who love designing cross-curricular content and want to shape the future of science education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design NGSS-aligned science activities and datasets for grades 2–8

  • Collaborate with Tuva’s content and assessment teams to build high-quality learning materials

  • Adapt open-source content (investigations, videos, simulations, etc.) for classroom use

  • Support and engage with a growing educator community to implement Tuva tools and resources

  • Build partnerships with academic institutions, museums, and science education orgs

Qualifications

Required:

  • Degree in Science Education or a science-related field (BS, MS, Ed.M, or PhD)

  • 3–5 years classroom teaching experience in K–8 science or math

  • Deep knowledge of NGSS and inquiry-based instructional practices

  • Strong content knowledge in Life, Earth, or Physical Science

  • Ability to design cross-curricular, data-rich learning experiences

  • Passion for data literacy, equity, and high-quality education
